VOLUNTEER SOLDIERS HAVE BEEN CONDEMNED FOR A FULFILLED MILITARY DUTY


The realities of modern Ukraine - three soldiers of a Ukrainian volunteer battalion have been condemned for they fulfilled a military duty.

Few days ago, the Konstantinivsky District Court of Donetsk Oblast sentenced Vadim Feshchenko, Roman Shchurov, Mykola Agapov - three soldiers of the Aidar volunteer battalion to 8 years in prison. December 10, 2015 the three soldiers were arrested right at their position at the frontline. The volunteers have been charged with violating of seven articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the most difficould among them is the article 348 " Attempt on the life of an employee of a law enforcement agency."

According to the accused soldiers, they detained an unknown person, who appeared on their position by a car. The detainee had immediatelly beed taken to the headquarters by his own car. Subsequently, it turned out that the detainee is an employee of local police department who did not have a single insignia mark at the time of detention. 

Since the unknown person, who later turned out to be a policeman, was behaving hostile the soldiers had all grounds to suspect him in collaboration with the terrorists. Not to mention that the fact that the presence of an unknown person without insignia at a military position is actually a reason for detainment.

"We have found ourselves face to face with the problem of prosecutorial arbitrariness on the verge of sabotage in the Ukrainian Army," Mykola Agapov commenter the sytuation on his Facebook page on the eve of the court session. Civic activists have already found out that the judge herself is a native of currently occupied Gorlivka town, where she still has an apartment.
