"GLORY TO UKRAINE" - CROATIAN FOOTBALLERS AND ACTIONS OF FIFA GAVE AN IMPETUS TO A POWERFUL FLASHMOB

Trying to play on the Kremlin hands once again the FIFA have provoked a powerful international wave of flashmobs under the slogan "Glory to Ukraine," can be regarded as a huge informational counter-strike for Russians at the World Cup.

On July 7, 2018, the Croatian team defeated Russia in a series of post-match penalties at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. After the match, Croats Domagoj Vida and Ognjen Vukojević - ex-players of Dynamo Kyiv FC - recorded a video-message in which they dedicated the victory to Ukrainians and exclaimed the "Glory to Ukraine!" motto.

FIFA hurried to call it a "political" statement and threat Vida to be disqualified. And the Croatian Football Federation eliminated Vukoevich from the national team, where he was an assistant coach. Later he was also fined by the FIFA. However, such actions caused a real information explosion. Soon, more than 180,000 Facebook users made a real storm on the FIFA official page on the Facebook, where they had set the lowest page rank - one star - and wrote comments with the words "Glory to Ukraine" in various languages.

Also, the video is gaining popularity on the Internet, in which records of speeches by politicians and leaders of different countries, which used the slogan "Glory to Ukraine", are gathering.

The video includes moments from the speeches of the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, former Secretary of State John Kerry, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite. In addition, the greetings of "Glory to Ukraine!" was used by the ministries of foreign affairs of Germany, Estonia, the US Embassy in Ukraine, and also by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the speech in the American Congress.

In parallel, the Veterans Braterstvo (Veteran Brotherhood) civic organisation members gathered near the Croatian embassy on July 10 to express their support to Vida and Vukojevic:

In parallel, the video in support of his unjustly convicted countrymen was made by Denis Sheler, a Croatian volunteer, a veteran of Russian-Ukrainian war and an instructor of the Azov regiment:
