FIRE IN THE OFFICE OF INTER TV CHANNEL - WAS IT AN ACCIDENT OR A STAGING?

The Inter TV channel remains the main mouthpiece of the anti-Ukrainian propaganda in our country. The TV channel has been founded in Ukraine in 1996 with the direct assistance of the Kremlin. The Inter TV channel is a part of the U.A. Inter Media Group Limited media group, which is part of the DF Group, owned by the Ukrainian oligarch Dmitro Firtash well-known by ties with the representative of Yanukovich's criminal regime.

On September 4 a fire broke out in the office of the Inter TV channel in Kyiv just after a protest action against its anti-Ukrainian activities. The public activists are accusing the channel's chairmen in a  high treason, during the protest action they had demanded the authorities to ban the anti-national channel's broadcast.

As media reported the flames quickly spread throughout the office, the TV channel's staff was immediately evacuated by firefighters. There was also reported that explosives could be inside the building.

Since during the protest action the activists were burning smoke flares and tires the media has immediately hanged the blame for the arson attack on them. Moreover, some of the activists were detained by police. Oksana Blyschyk, the spokesman of the National Police department of Kyiv reported, that around 4:30 pm the police received a call that tires were set on fire by a group of unknown persons near the office of one of the Ukrainian TV channels at the Shuseva street. The Police and the investigative team of the Shevchenkivsy police department immediatelly arrived to the place. Then it was turned out that a group of 20 activists came at the building, set tents and brought tires, which subsequently were set on fire. She added, that the fire was caused by a smoke flare, which was thrown into the room by unknown.

As the head of the Kyiv Department of the National Police reported the incident has been defined as "arson" and "intentional damage to property." Six activists were delivered to police to check their involvement in the incident.

And now let's consider the situation closely.

Firstly, even if the fire was caused by the activists actions, that couldn't been a deliberate arson. A smoke flare is an extremely ineffective thing to commit an arson. This is almost impossible physically.

Secondly, an arson as a punitive measure against the anti-Ukrainian force would have a sense if there was no hope to justice. In this case such radical step could be the only option. However, the situation vith Inter is different and the collaborators are accused at the state highest level, at least the MIA head's position on this matter gives grounds to expect for adequate actions of the authorities. So the protest action was aimed to call the authorities to resort to radical steps.

And thirdly, this order of things is clearly beneficial for the Moscow owners of the Inter TV-channel. The arson gave them possibility to appear the channel as "oppressed," then raise the issue of "freedom of speech," and provide protection for the anti-Ukrainian media recource by international advocacy organizations. In addition, Moscow is definitely interested in arrests of Ukrainian activists.
