KYIV AUTHORITIES HAVE REJECTED THE APPLICATION FOR HOLDING A LGBT PARADE IN THE CITY CENTER
Through the efforts of activists of the Society Advocacy Center public organisation and Kyiv City Council deputy Volodymyr Bochniak (Svoboda) the capital's authorities has refused the appeal of local "LGBT community" on holding of a parade at the central Khreschatyk Street. The "parade" organisers have been adviced to cancel the event at all.
As an official reason for the refusal the city council indicated a number of other events, planned on this very date in Kyiv, in particular celebration of the International Yoga Day with the participation of India Embassy representatives. As someone joked on the matter - not accidently such great traditionalists as Evola and Eliade were interested in Yoga.
Definitely, it's not a final victory. After all, the foreign grants consumers can try to hold their deviant parade to other part of the city. Nevertheless, such official decision is a quite positive informational precedent. We hope, that in future Kiev authorities, following the experience of their colleagues from West Ukrainian cities, will pay more attention to all kind of pro-Life actions, instead of doubtful initiatives of iffy organisations.
