UKRAINE'S 'KYIVPRIDE' LGBT ORGANISATION EXPRESSED SUPPORT TO A KREMLIN PROXY POLITICAL PROJECT
Confrontation between Ukrainian conservatives, right communities and the KyivPride - one of few generously supported by foreign grant foundations Ukrainian pro-qveer organisation, known by organisation of LGBT Pride actions - has been continuing since the extreme-left organisation started its activities.
Among the main claims, the conservatives have with the Kyiv Pride and other cultural marxist/pro-queer organisations, are not only their activities aimed at undermining traditional family and moral values of Ukrainian society, but also their participation in Moscow hybrid campaign against Ukraine. Despite how absurd the Western readers could find the last accusation, it has considerable grounds - from the ones open cooperation with Moscow-proxy activists (who under the guise of human right defence have been protecting anti-Ukrainian initiatives, separatists' functionaries, etc.) to numerous anti-Ukrainian mottos, that had appeared at LGBT parades/other cultur-marxist actions in recent years. Not to mention the facts, that some participants of the KyivPride actions are happened to be tied with current separatists of the Donbass.
For all this time the pro-LGBT organisations have been insisting on own apolitical position. But few weeks ago on its Facebook page the KyivPride publicly expressed gratitude and support to the Respublika party. Well, the support of political parties is not the worst thing in the KyivPride biography. Nevertheless, perhaps it is worth to look closely at that party? In order to better understand the nature of a man, a phenomenon, or, as it is in our case, a political party, it is worth analyzing links of the object of research. In the case of the Respublika we have a bunch of exclusively odious is not scandalous characters.
Let's start with a regular guest of the party events, well known in Ukraine scandalous Russian-proxy journalist Igor Gujva, a editor-in-chief of the STRANA.UA anti-Ukrainian news site, and an author of articles for the party's "Novaya Respublica" newspaper. The publications there include justification of the D/LNR terrorists and the Russian hybrid army in the Donbass as well as systematic criticism of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, volunteer battalions and any nation-revival initiatives. By the way, not long ago Gujva hurried to escape from the territory of Ukraine through criminal proceedings against him. In the Respublika party, this situation is presented as "bloody repressions of regime against genuine journalism." Among the "journalists" defended by the party is another separatist Ruslan Kotsaba, who was tried for the failure of mobilization in the Armed Forces, state treason and espionage.
Noticible, that the Respublika refers to the Amnesty International, calling to provide Kotsyuba (((repeatedly))) "a prisoner of conscience" status - another reason to think that there are those who simphatyze to Moscow proxies in Ukraine among "professional human rights defenders." The party also protects one Denis Zharkikh, who was punched by patriots during a court hearing of the Kotsaba case for public insults towards Ukraine's people.
Another interesting person the party is actively cooperating at informational area is one Evgenia Bilichenko, a leftist activist and a poetess and a colunmist of the Novaya Respublika newspaper. At the beginning of the Maidan events she seemed to express support to the protesting movement, but later changed rethorics towards the theses of Kremling propaganda. Mrs. Bilichenko doesn't hide her friendly relations with the Donbass terrorists.
Continuing the list of the party's friends we can mention Olesya Medvedeva, a journalist of the pro-Russian Clemento Time web resource, a leader of the populist Successful Country party and the Donbas Reconstruction Fund - the projects of Oleksandr Klymenko, the former head of the Ministry of Income and Assemblies of Ukraine in the government of Viktor Yanukovych, also known as "Azarov's wallet."
And it's not a complete list of questionable contributors of the new political organisation. What's more questionable is that, judging on its Facebook page reports, the party members systematically and consistently stand on anti-Ukrainian positions, operate primarily in a coalition with left-wing, Russia-proxy political and civic projects.
"Tell me who's your friend and I'll tell you who you are" the proverb says, so coming out Kyiv Pride.
