TERRORIST ATTACK IN THE ST. PETERSBURG SUBWAY

As you know, a massive blast shook the Senna station of the St. Petersburg subway. The explosion has took 14 lives, 49 people have been hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. The incident was classified as a terrorist attack. According to some sources, power explosives was about 200-300 grams of TNT.

Shortly after, the Investigative Committee of Russia indentified the person, responsible for the attack. "Investigators have identified the man who set off an explosive device at a metro car in Saint Petersburg. His name is Akbarzhon Dzhalilov, 22. Criminalists found his DNA on a bag with a bomb left at the Ploshchad Vosstaniya metro station," the message reads. However, the Russian Rosbalt media resource reported that its journalists have managed to find the suspect alive and well. They found Dzhalilov's page on a Russian social network, and the personal data on his page correspond to the description of the alleged suicide bomber. The journalists claim they even managed to talk with the suspect, calling to a phone number listed on his page. The suspect claims that there was some mistake.

Analyzing the attack, some of Russian analytics have noted some parallels between it and terrorist attacks of the beginning of 2000's, that preceded preceded Putin's coming to power. The Kremlin's actions have always been marked with brutish straightforwardness and cynicism. There is a regularity in Russia: terrorist attacks, committed under strange circumstances or annexations of foreign territories have always been a reaction to anti-government demonstrations or the fall of ratings of ruling forces. Now the Kremlin has faced new bunch of troubles - strikes of truckers against new Inadequate taxes, journalist investigations, corruption scandals and recent rallies against corrupt authorities all over the country. Some analysts suggest the incident has some relation to the upcoming presidential elections in Russia, that are planned on March of 2018. And the ruling elites following the same win-win line, creating an image of a threat and further struggle with it.
