YURIY SYROTYUK WAS IMPRISONED FOR TWO MONTHS

On September 11, 2015 Kiev Pechersk District Court headed by a judge Volodymyr Karaban granted the request of prosecutor's office on imprisonment of  Yuriy Syrotyuk, a deputy chairman of "Svoboda" Ukrainian nationalist party, for 2 months. The head of the legal service of "Svoboda" - Oleg Bondarchuk called the judicial decision a political reprisal, he has also noted that a lawyers are preparing an appeal.

According to the lawyer, this case is one more political reprisal against opponents of the current government. The prosecution has not provided a single adequate evidences against the defendant, moreover, the court session was held with a numerous procedural violations. Despite of these, the judicial system of Yanukovych's times has fulfilled the master's order once again. 

Yuriy Syrotyuk called the court's decision and the whole trial of him a political reprisal: "This trial is the graveyard of killed illusions. This is the end of the Revolution of Dignity - an author of this concept was thrown to jail by Avakov. Now it turns out that Syrotyuk is the most dangerous criminal in Ukraine, not Akhmetov or Efremov. This triel is the system's revenge for my social and political work" - says the nationalist politician. 

Note, that the court session on adoption of preventive measure for Yuriy Syrotyuk took place in the hall, full of the MIA employees ("Titan" and "Gryphon" special units), the court session was held in presence of six dozens of police officers.. First the judge banned to enter the court hall for anyone except the parties of the proceedings. However, the defense side had managed to make the continuation of the public meeting, including the presence of press.

It should be also noted that the chief investigator did not come to the trial, obviously, the reason of that was the fact that he introduced a number of knowingly false facts into the case. In addition, it should be noted that during 12 days of investigation and judicial process with the participation of 44 investigators and 23 prosecutors, who lead the case, no one of them don't held the interrogation of the suspect. The court session was ended at all absurd. Before the announcement of the court decision the judge went to the deliberation room and asked all the present to leave the hall for some time to "ventilate the room," while Yuriy and was outside with his family and friends, who came to support him the judge quickly came in the court hall and read out the sentence - preventive measure in a detention for 60 days and quickly left the room. After Yuriy entered to the hall, security asked the press and other public to leave the room. Then mr. Syrotyuk was arrested by a group of fifty policemen, another group of several dozen policemen guarding the court building outside.

Dmytro Yarosh's comment on the arrest of Yuriy Syrotyuk: 

"Yesterday was held another trial of Ukrainian patriot. This time the regime servants have thrown to jail the member of "Svoboda" and the former participant of "Tryzub" nationalist organisations. This is clear now that the government increases repressions against the members of Ukrainian nationalist movements. 

Despite some differences we must unite the nationalist movement. This is the only way to oppose the repressive system and become the driving force of the struggle for freedom, justice, well-being of Ukrainian nation on the Ukrainian land. 

Freedom for Yuriy Syrotyuk and all other Ukrainian patriots, who were thrown in jail by the ruling regime!
