GERMANY INCREASES INVESTMENT IN RUSSIA'S ECONOMY

Germany increases the level of investment in Russia's economy, this was reported by one of the country's leading information resources. Journalists published data from the German-Russian commercial and industrial chamber, citing figures from the Bundesbank.

The amount of financial injections by the German companies to Russian economy for the first half of 2016 is almost equal to the amount that had been invested during 2015 in general. Only in the second quarter of 2016, German companies have invested 655 million euros, which is three times more than in the same period of last year.

The Spiegel newspaper notes that after the annexation of the Crimea in 2014 the level of investments from German does fell, reaching its lowest rate since 2005. But subsequently investment flows began to increase. As of today the dynamics of growth remains stable.

It is known that a significant segment of German political elites is oriented at Moscow. Die Linke left political party has openly express sympathies to the Kremlin and its satellites. Another political force in the Bundestag which can be concidered as Moskow-oriented is the Social Democratic Party of Germany. Being a part of the coalition the party has strong impact on the country's foreign policy. The German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier is a representative of SPD; another representative of the party - Gernot Erler has been serving as commissioner of the German Government on cooperation with Russia.

Thus, Moscow has a strong political lobby in German government. At the same time it is not limited with traditional foreign policy orientation of the German parties. In the terms of today economy is one of the main factors, contributing to the maintenance of close relations between Moscow and Berlin. This once again confirms the correctness of the point that Berlin cannot be considered as a partner of Ukraine.
