Finnish festive march to the Independence day

97th anniversary of the independence of Finland surpassed all previous celebrations.

Patriots and nationalists held a peaceful march on the Mannerheim street in Helsinki for the first time, while the anti-fascists and leftist radicals staged a fight with police officers near the presidential palace.

The march organized by the "6.12 Torch" youth nationalist movement, started at the Bay of Toolo, and ended in a military cemetery Hietaniemi.

Each participant had a torch in his hand and tape in the form of a small national flag of Finland, great Finnish flag bearers walked in front and behind the column. March organizers make passionate speeches and sang the anthem at the Toolontori square before the March.

The event was announced in advance in the social network Facebook and on the Finnish National Resistance website (fin. Kansallinen Suomen Vastarinta).
