Saint Mykolay (Saint Nicholas) holiday for children of the war heroes

This night, from 18 to 19 December ukrainians will be celebrating saint Mykolay holiday. Traditionally this night parents give gifts to their children, leaving them under the pillow.

"I'm expecting "Lego" from Saint Mykolay and toy car on the remote controlling. But probably not bring me because I was very impolite. Not listened to my mother and grandmother. My dad is not with us now - he is in the war. Long time ago." - 7 years old Oleh told us. Together with other kids whose parents are defending Ukraine now in the East, he came to see the festive performance in Theatre for Young People. Actually, celebration for inheritors of our heroes today jointly organized by "AutoMaidan" and "Right Sector".

"Volunteer Ukrainian Corps DUK Right Sector are fighting on the front line now. Our boys are dying every day for Ukraine. The least we can do here in the rear, and especially before the Saint Mykolay holliday - is take care about children. I want to emphasize: "Right Sector" organized today`s holiday not only for our children of DUK Right Sector soldiers, we invited all children - many ot them is from families of ordinary militarians" - said during the festive event spokesman of the "Right Sector West" Taras Kuziakiv.

Funds to organize the celebration for young residents of Lviv donated by local businesses. Thus, we managed to collect about 20 000 UAH. "We bought tickets to the show and giftts. Sweets, fruit, school stationery. We wish for children of our heroes also get a holiday. I think it will become a tradition that will continue when the war is over and our defenders will return to their families" - said the head of the "AutoMaidan West" Andriy Rebets.
