UKRAINIAN NATIONALISTS' ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE CRIMEAN TATARS

Crimean Tatar leaders call for Ukrainian Parliament to approve laws on recognizing Crimean Tatars as native nation of Crimean peninsula. Mustafa Jemilev, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar said it at the conference on the legal status of the Crimean Tatar people.

Colonel Basil Ivanishin, founder and first commander of the Ukrainian organization "Tryzub of the Stepan Bandera" at 2005 wrote a work "Crimean node" where the Ukrainian nationalists position towards Crimean Tatar issue in Ukraine described.

Problem of repatriation, national reconstruction and self-affirmation of Crimean Tatars on their native land in Ukrainian territories required for urgent and specific solving.

For us, the Ukrainian nationalists, original and decisive in this case are the following provisions. Crimean Tatars have no national metropolis outside of Ukraine. Ukrainian land - is the only native land of Crimean Tatars, where from they were deported by Soviet regime, and therefore they have the right to return to their native land. Crimean Tatars - is not national minority for Ukraine but indigenous population of Crimean peninsula, the land where they became a nation. Crimean Tatars as a people can focus and take care of their comprehensive national revival, public self-affirmation and guarantee their future on Ukrainian land only.

We recognize national rights of Crimean Tatar, their desire for own national state as natural and undeniable. It can be realized: 

• only in Ukraine,  
• only under the flag of the Ukrainian national idea and into the borders of Ukrainian national state, 
• only with the participation and assistance of the Ukrainian nation, 
• only in the form of the Crimean Tatar autonomy.

All attempts to ignore or postpone the Crimean Tatar problem or solve it without or contrary to Ukrainian national interests turn into new troubles for Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, especially those living in Crimea" - said in work.

Ukraine Parliament could read the work of Basil Ivanyshyn and adopt the law on Crimean Tatar native lands, which will allow them to regain his Motherland.
