Some of European nationalists are still supporting Russia in our conflict mostly because of lacking information about the situation. Most of them still believe in Russian "traditionalism" and "pro-Western, liberal" position of Ukrainian nationalists. Russian media resources all around the World try to show Putin as a dictator (in the best sense of this word), real master of his country, right-conservative wing politician. Unfortunately he have always sways side to side. Russian media have two useful tools for all occasions, they readily showing Kurginyan for leftists all around the World and Dugin for rightists. Anyway, modern Russia is really looks like a traditionalist country, but this traditionalism looks quite strange, all because of it is soviet roots. All because of "mystifying Russian soul" makes everything not like other people as it was many times before.
Of course, we cannot deny the fact that the Russian traditionalism is really exist, but now, unfortunately, the Kremlin profess its different model - "Soviet traditionalism". All the so-called conservative Russian "model of development" (taking in quotation marks, because there is no models or development) it is desire to conserve all Soviet "national heritage" instead of national, traditional and hierarchical. For some reason, most of Russians are considering strange mix of Stalin and Nikolai II as revival of Russian tradition. We cannot deny the fact Soviet Union had some hierarchical elements, but not an aristocratic, party leadership was not a new Kshatriyas, rather huckster who reached the treasury first. "There is no worse master than Ivan" - Ukrainian proverb states implying that lumpenproletariat in power is a terrible thing, and it's not about property condition but its internal nature.
Quite often we can find a reference to Marx among the ideologists of contemporary Russian political movements, advocates of modern Russian "traditionalism" (I don`t even try to hint at national-Bolshevik, one of the Donbass separatists ideologists Limonov), let us remember Dugin with his attempts to show Marx as the great traditionalist and fighter against of comprehensive liberal discourse. Probably all because of totalitarianism which he will bring Europe in the future.
Tradition is the opposite of liberalism but it is not totalitarianism. Tradition cannot be based on materialism, but on the idea that can hardly be localized within the scientific communism and dialectical materialism.

...combine incongruous - Caucasian tiran, a killer of millions of slavs (including Russians) and the flags of the Russian Empire as a symbol of Russian nationalism |
Whole the Russian national-patriotic character of Soviet past is just a fictional creature, was created at a particular time for a particular purpose. Let's review Stalin's particular actions after the German offensive actions against of Soviet Union have been started. Firstly "The Chief" eliminates the "Unity of Militant Atheists" and introduces a honorary title of "Guard" for the Red Army units and other particular elements of pre-Bolshevik Russia (golden insignias and the ceremonial kiss the red flag at military solemnities). So why materialist Stalin have turned some traditional ceremonies of Tsarist Russia, with changes according to Bolshevik system and the World War II he called the "Greta Patriotic War" but why not the "Great Socialist (Working Class, Proletarian) War"? After all, Soviet and modern Russian history books telling us the Warsaw Block creation and "liberation of the Western Europe from Fascism and the Western capitalist yoke. The answer is quite simply - the Soviet political strategists are perfectly understood that people need for faith or ideology, sometimes irrational, but it should looks like an old traditions and such politics would be more effective than dialectical materialism and the "Class struggle". Stalin took this advice and ... ideologically correct anthem the "internationale" was changed to "...The Great Rus unites us forever", a medals with pads, and even the ST. George Ribbon (Romanov`s dynasty colors) which has been turned into symbol of Soviet patriotism. This was the period of new Soviet oxymorons creation, period social-cosmopolites became social-patriots, but this process was so fast and artificial to be organic.
Dugin's Soviet traditionalism is the creation of particular period and can be considered as something quite natural now. But it has no relation to native European or Russian traditionalism, rather some quasi-traditional/quasi-conservative concept, some kind of meta-narrative, which should explain us how Russian "reds" became into "white-blue-red" or even "black-gold-white" in its modern concept.
