PATRIOTS HAVE REMOVED EU FLAGS FROM KYIV STREETS
Recently, a group of national-conscious young men held a patriotic raid in Kyiv, during which EU flags have been removed from a number of the city's administrative buildings. The action was aimed to draw society's attention to a colonial policy the EU has been pursuing against Ukraine, in which the official Brussels is quite similar to the Kremlin. The patriotic raid was held under the slogan "Ukraine is neither EU's nor Russia's colony."
Media reported that police has declared the "offenders" wanted for violation of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that stipulates punishment for desecration of the Ukrainian state symbols or "officially established or raised flag or emblem of a foreign state." However, one thing remains unclear in the accusations the law guards have put forward - a EU flag does not fall under this description since it is not a state flag. What is less understandable is why flags of an interstate union, which is not includes Ukraine, considered in line with the state symbols?
In the present terms the very question of "what is your attitude to EU membership for Ukraine" is inappropriate and irrelevant. Instead, each conscious person is likely understands the three following things:
- The perspective to become a part of the EU is not threatened to Ukraine over the next five-ten years.
- Given the the perspectives of today, by the time when our country will be ready to join the EU, it can either completely disappear or degenerate into something worse than what it is today, or on the contrary, the Union will obtain really attractive features;
- The current format of Ukrainian "Eurointegration cource" is correspond neither to the national interests nor to the interests of hypothetically "positive European Union"
As I said above, Ukraine will not join the EU in next five years. But we will hand over positions one by one during this period of "integration."
As we see the EU external policy is a reflection of the foreign policy of Berlin, which is not coincide with our interests. Both Brussels and Berlin have been putting pressure on Ukraine's leadership, forcing it to make concessions to the Kremlin.

Both Brussels and Berlin have been putting pressure on Ukraine's leadership, forcing it to make concessions to the Kremlin. Every time when public initiatives are trying to expand the methods of confrontation to Moscow aggression (remember the Crimean blockade or the ongoing trade blockade of the occupied parts of Donbass), we hear criticism from the EU.
In economic terms, EU policy towards Ukraine distinctly colonial. And it is not only limited to the scandalous topic of timber exports.
In addition, in last years we have had enough opportunities to realize that the adoption of subversive social ideas and "values" by Ukrainian society is another side of the so-called "European Integration."
European nations need for consolidation. But not in the current format. We can observe noticeable efforts and desire to recover the European Union by the countries of East and Central Europe, first of all by the Vishegrad Group. Whether they manage to achieve the desired result - we'll see.
Returning to our country it is worth to admit that an EU flag on a government building is nothing but a symbol of weakness, which the capital of our country must get rid of the sooner the better.
