UKRAINE'S EXTREME LEFT IN SERVICE TO MOSCOW

We are accustomed to the fact that all sorts of poets, writers, culturologists, artists, public activists of a pronounced left-wing position are pro-Western orientated. Indeed, most of them - promoting the ideas of postmodernism, propagating gender ideology, sexual perversion, pornography in Ukrainian cultural space - are literaly worshiping modern Western culture, and usually live on grants from EU-based leftist foundations. However, as the the experience shows, the situation is not so one-sided as it looks like, and the leftists can easily combine sympathies to both West-originated cultural marxism and the "Russian World" ideas.

Mrs. Olena Zaslavska is a bright proof of that. Being a native of Luhansk region, for many years she has been combining activities in so-called "modern poetry" with specific "radical public activity." He was a co-creator of the STAN Literary Grouping, that is known in Ukraine's literary environment by radical-left and pro-Russian position of its members. Public activity of mrs. Zaslavska was reduced to all-kind of degenerative performances. For example, Zaslavska actively fought against the legal restrictions on the spread of pornography in Ukraine. It is very prominent that one of her closest "fighting comrades" was one Yaroslav Minkin - another "modern poet/public activist of left direction" who feed himself from western grants.

Today, Minkin keeps earning new grants, he travels Ukraine, hold meetings, talks about the prospects for European integration, and develops plans of building new "progressive and multicultural Ukraine." What Zaslavska is doing now? Among other, she wrote poems to the Kremlin-guided Donbass terrorists, calling them "fighters against fascism" and glorifying the so-called "Novorossia." And Zaslavska isn't the only representative of the left-liberal "intellectuals" and "people of modern art" who rushed to "fight against fascism" in the Donbass. Another quite strining example is Yulia Malkina -  a "fighter against racism/Christian fundamentalism/homophobia/gender inequality.

And the choice of all these people though somewhat naive, yet ideologically motivated: "Anti-fascism above all" ... Maidan and the war have divided extreme-lefts in Ukraine. the Major prat keeps believing that nationalists would come to power in Ukraine (in their interpretation - "Nazis", "fascists", "religious freaks"). Others (the majority) still hope that the oligarchs in power will continue to lead Ukraine by the "European" (that is, left-liberal) path.
