UKRAINIAN NATIONALISTS HELD ACTIONS NEAR CONSULATES OF POLAND IN UKRAINIAN CITIES

On February 5, Ukrainian nationalists gathered at the Polish Consulate buildings in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Lviv and Lutsk to express disagreement with some points of the Law of the National Memory Institute, that has been recently adopted by the Polish parliament. The actions have gathered the activists of the Praviy Sector, the Svoboda, the Natsionalny Corpus and the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists. 

Ukrainian nationalists respect each nation's efforts to protect its history, as well as public condemnation of crimes committed by an invading regime against the native nation. The situation with historical and political manipulations around the "Polish death camps" phrase is quite familiar to Ukrainians, since we have often witnessed all-sorts of historical manipulations - mainly based on political grounds - around the Ukrainian nationalist nation-liberation movement of the WW2 period. As for the taken law, ie those of its points that refer to the Ukrainian nationalists - this can only add more fuel to the fire of the third side backed wave of demonization of the Ukrainian nationalism phenomenon in Poland. Clearly this will only affect the development of positive and truly productive historical dialogue between Ukrainian and Polish nations as well as to the establishment of a common position to those historical events that we share. 

The problem is that the Ukrainian nationalism concept in Poland has long obtained some macabric forms, that are so far from reality. And even superficial acquaintance of its basic principles would have removed all the questions. Ukrainian nationalists will never allow to insult their principles and ideals, especially basing on one-sided coverage of events and distortions of facts. 

A statement on the specific requirements to establish a constructive relationship with Poland was given to the representative of the embassy by the nationalists. At the next session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the deputies from the Svoboda and National Corps will demand the MPs to support the appeal to the Polish authorities.

What both sides have to keep in mind is that while some populist politicians continue to throw accusations against each other about which side has started the conflict, our common enemies are gladly rubbing their hands. Among them the Kremlin rulers, who are interested in the absence of any geopoliticaly subjective state between Russia and Germany; so do Merkel and Soros, as he sees a huge obstacle of his plans to destroy European identity in the revival of nationalism in Central and Eastern Europe. 

For those people of Polish "history lovers," who likes to turn its separate parts out of context to use for own benefit, we'd like to recall the Treaty of Riga and its consequences for Poland. Se let's be resonable. For Europe of Nations!
