HAPPY BIRTHDAY COMANDANTE! LEGENDARY ROMAN SHUKHEVYCH WAS BORN ON JUNE 30

Today, on June 30 all we mark another big date for whole the Ukrainian nationalist movement. This day 109 years ago in the town of Krakovets was born Roman Shukhevych, a legendary Cornet-General, a glorious General Chief of the Unconquered - the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.

"Our independence will be gained neither by polithical parties, nor by particular  organisations or individuals, but by consolidation of whole Ukrainian people" Roman Shukhevych used to say. The fight for the freedom of Ukrainian nation, for the sovereign state, for its right to live a welfare and flourishing life on the God-given land became a meaning of Shukhevych's life - a life of a man of steel and aristocratic soul! The mission he saw for himself being in senior positions in the Ukrainian nationalist movement in the days of World War II was in regaining consolidation of the Ukrainian nationalists (loosened by the German, Polish and Soviet repressions) and elimination of ideological differences in the OUN. He Support the initiative of the OUN Regional Council to create the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, which had to became an instrument for struggle for the Ukrainian independent state.
