THE ASCENSION


On June 9 the Christian world traditionally celebrates the feast of Ascension.
 
Deep psychological analysis indicates, that the moment first straightening, when a child rises to his feet first time, sees the world from a new height and take a look at the sky - this moment determines formation of men's basic features, such as: idealism, courage, the ability to make a feat, clear thinking. Every life, a conscious life, a life of feats starts from this first look to the sky.

Instead, "horizontal" reflexes, including eating reflex associated with the emergence of the materialist worldview, chaotic way of thinking, anti-order, weakness, desire to consumerism and comfort.

The sky was a visible and elusive ideal for ancient philosophers, who set a vertical coordinate for a human life. After all, sooner or later our body will take its horizontal position on the ground, and the most important is to preserve our soul from the same fate, but to make it ascend to Divine.

On the Holy Saturday, on the day before the Resurrection our Lord Jesus Christ went down to the Hell to release the righteous from there. Later, on the 40th day after the Resurrection He shows us the path each soul shall pass - the way to Heaven, an upward path of Ascension.

But don't consider the above written as an advice to abandon the struggle in earthly life. The Lord has tied our earthly and heavenly deeds in order to leave a constant reminder for us about the eternal heavenly values, a values of vertical path, an upper ideals such as idealism and courage, that lead our soul up to Heaven. On this way every of us has to overcome the forces of chaos, that impose us all kind of consumer reflexes and empty fuss, despite the form they are appearing to us.

We have nothing to fear, the Lord said us once: "No man can stand against you when you know that God is on your side!"
