Increase of separatist attacks at Donetsk airport can be explained by an attempt to rescue Chechen mercenaries from captivity in one version, they were blocked at the airport.

All the heights - meteorological tower, control tower, watchtower, all buildings which in the normal condition and allow you to control the airport grounds - are kept under control."
The second floor of the new terminal is completely collapsed - fighters who kept the defense came under the rubble.
Part of dead soldiers, remained under the rubble still, according to battalion commander. There is no possibility to take off the bodies from the rubble now in reason of constant artillery duel at the airport territory.
