"POROSHENKO'S OFFSHORE TAX PLAN" WHAT THE INVESTIGATION RESULTS WILL CAUSE FOR?

Recently, a series of detailed journalistic investigations has shed light on the dark side of financial operations of many world famous politicians and public figures. About 400 journalists from 80 countries have been involved to the project of international consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and who published the results of work in their countries, in particular in Russia and Ukraine.

Let's concentrate our attention on Ukraine. The journalistic investigation found that Petro Poroshenko is a founder of an offshore company with a legal address in the British Virgin Islands, which, of course, is a direct violation of anti-corruption requirements. In accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine the country's president has to right to engage in business activities. So, in accordance with the investigation, we have a deal with a gross violation of the Ukrainian Constitution, committed by a person, who must guarantee it implementation.

In addition, the journalistic investigation accused Petro Poroshenko in several years of lies about the Roshen company, the owner of which he is.

The president's administration hasn't commented the investigation materials. However, some politicians have already made relevant statements. For example, Oleh Lyashko, a leader of the Radical Party announced on initiation of the process of impeachment to the president. Of course, mr. Lyashko is a known populist, whose statements are often far of his deeds, but it is possible, that the evidences, provided by the journalist investigation can be a catalist for some radical changes in the country.
