ANOTHER ANTI-UKRAINIAN ACTION WAS FAILED IN ODESSA

Yesterday, on April 10, hiding behind celebration of the anniversary of so-called "liberation" of Odessa from so-called "fascists," local Kremlin-backed separatists attempted to hold anti-Ukrainian march in the city. And once again local patriots became an obstacle for their plans to dishonour to the streets of the wonderful Ukrainian seaside city.


First, local separatists gathered near the monument to the Unknown Soldier and Sailor were provoking Odessa's patriots by shouting anti-Ukrainian slogans, besides, the anti-national rally attendees had such provocative attributes as orange-black and red ribbons, some of them were holding communist flags and Stalin's portraits; in general of the communist rally attendees have behaved very indecent.

After some time the separatists have decided to march through the city center, however, this attempt was failed due to coordinated actions of activists of local branches of the Right Sector, Odessa Self-defence and other patriotic organisations, who have blocked one of the central streets. After the unsuccessful march the separatist flock moved to the Kulikovo field (a traditional place for gathering of elderly communism fans). Exactly the Kulikovo field was the scene of confrontation between the patriots and employees of "law enforcement agencies," who have traditionally defended anti-Ukrainian action.

Shortly after the activists arrived to the new place of the separatist sabbath they have been attacked by employees of the National Guard and so-called "new" reformed police. Particularly, the police employees have used tear gas to suppress the city honour defenders; during the conflict five police officers attacked one activists, they threw him to the ground and beat with batons.

Eventually, the activists managed to break through the police border and force the USSR fans to stop their rally and leave the Kulikovo field. Besides that, nationalists have destroyed the anti-Ukrainian and communist attributes. 

In addition, on May 2 this year marks 2 years since clashes between the nationalists and separatists in Odessa. This day a patriotic march was attacked by armed people, who had opened fire towards the patriotic column. However then, two years ago, Odessa's patriots had managed to protect the seaside city from those chaos, which the Kremlin-backed terrorists have brought to the cities of Donbass. According to available data the anti-Ukrainian forces are planning to hold a number of provocations this year. 

Analyzing the yesterday's situation in Odessa some people were puzzled by such police behavior, especially taking into account the fact, that the Police in Odessa has been passed the process of renewing and reformation. But there is no wonder in such their behavior. The core of problem is total lack of political will to launch adequate counteraction to activities of the Kremlin agents in some regions of our country. Yes, for this two years many politicians have wore blue-yellow ribbons and patriotic rhetoric, but our deeds talk louder than our words and if they do nothing to oppose anti-Ukrainian actions in a region - they are separatists and they have to be brought to justice.

It is clear that local politicians are afraid to lose electorate among elderly fans of USSR, and we have to understand that the tragedy of May 2, 2014 was caused, first of all, by ignoring the problem of free flow of pro-Kremlin propaganda as well as activities of foreign agents in some regions of Ukraine.

Anyway, they can't ignore the fact that on that day, in the beginning of May two years ago, when the separatists attacked the patriots, big number of ordinary Odessa residents joined the Ukrainian side during street clashes. Now, when the law enforces are providing security of separatist marches while the ordinary city residents protect the city streets from them we can expect for new victims. And it's not nationalists' fault, but authorities, who do nothing to finish with the Kremlin's poisoned seeds in our land.
