TOP 20 DONBASS TERRORISTS, WHO HAVE BECOME MILLIONAIRES DURING THE WAR

A military conflict between Ukraine and the Kremlin puppet "republics of Donbass" has been going for more than two years. For this time the region has faced real humanitarian catastrophe; more that 2 millions locals were forced to leave their homes and move to unoccupied territories. However, not all residents of artificial state formations are feeling this crisis in their own life, in contrary the "Donbass republics" have built their own oligarchic clans for these two years.

At the end of 2015 journalists of the Ukrainian business magazine "Vlast Deneg" published the result of a journalistic investigation in which they discovered some interesting facts about financial activities of chairmen of the puppet republics. The journalists found that leaders of the so-called "DNR/LNR" have managed to become millionaires since the outbreak of the conflict in the eastern Ukraine. The magazine made a list of 20 terrorists-millionaires:

1. Igor Plotnitsky, a head of so-called "Luhansk People's Republic," 30 millions USD.

First Plotnitsky was a leader of terrorist group "Zoria," afters ome time he became a "minister of defence of the LNR." Since August 2014 Plotnitsky has held a post of the head of the "LNR." He is known for his frauds and thefts of material and financial resources. In the summer of 2014 Plotnitsky appropriated cash in the amount of approximately 100 thousand USD, which were intended for terrorists as a premiums for destruction of the Ukrainian military equipment. Militants of Plotnitsky's "Zoria" group were engaged in trading of petroleum products.  

All most profitable and perspective enterprises in occupied part of the Luhansk region were taken from the rightful owners in short period. In addition, Plotnitsky's group has gained control over from local mines to some enterprises, located on unoccupied territory of Ukraine employing corruption schemes and involving Ukrainian oligarchs.  

After the "expropriation" the ATB supermarket network on it was re-registered to Plotnitsky's wife as the "Narodniy" supermarket network. Exactly this supermarket network sells food supplied from Russia to Luhansk as a "humanitarian aid." Сontributed to removal of equipment from number of local factories to the territory of the Russian Federation.

2. Alexander Zakharchenko, a head of the so-called "DNR," 22 mln USD.

Today Zakharchenko controls a larger share of liquid assets of Donetsk and the surrounding cities. His groups control local supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and shopping centers. Same as his "colleague from Lugansk," Aleksandr Zakharchenko has captured Donetsk network of ATB and Amstor supermarkets, which were re-registered to his wife Natalia.  

Control over regional petroleum market is another paragraph of Zakharchenko incomes. His entourage is actually controls petrol stations and private entrepreneurs engaged in trade of fuel. Сontributed to removal of equipment from number of local factories to the territory of the Russian Federation.

3. Alexander Timofeev, a minister of revenues of the so-called DNR closes the top three. He has just 17 mln USD. Timofeev has been directly engaged in smuggling of fuel and lubricants from the Russian Federation to Donetsk. In addition, Timofeev also contributed to raider capture of number of regional enterprises. 

The list includes names of 20 "officials" of Donbass puppet republics.
