TERRORIST ATTACK IN KHERSON REGION

This Thursday, on April 14 a car bomb exploded in Novooleksyivka town, Kherson region. One person was killed and four local were injured in result of the explosion. According to police report, the force of the blast was the equivalent of about 6,5kg of explosives, shrapnel damage radius was about 200 meters. 

The Security Service has already classified the car explosion as a terrorist attack and the police have begun a criminal investigation under article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (act of terrorism).

At this moment the law enforcers report that the suspect was fixed by surveillance cameras and his identikit will be published in nearest time. However, they recognize, that a chance to detain the terrorist is extremely small, most probably he has already escaped to Russia of the the territory of occupied Crimean peninsula since Novooleksyivka town is about 30km from the border with Crimea. “This is all Putin’s methods…” Valentina Sechevaya, the first Deputy Chairman of the Kherson regional administration commented the terrorist act.

Recall, last month the Ukrainian security services shut down a terrorist cell targeting Kherson that was reportedly prepared by Russian specialists and was planning a number of terrorist attacks in Kherson region.
