A COSSACK NATION AS AN ARMY-NATION

Undoubtedly, hundreds of years of struggle for survival the Ukrainian nation has and must learn to take an adequate response to the challenges of time. There is no line between civilian and military when line between peace and war disappears. The whole nation is transformed into an army, it forms own combat, rear and intelligence units. In Ukrainian tradition we have a concept of "cossack army," and a cossack warrior is, first of all, a free, a noble and an armed man.


A free - because a cossack warrior acts according to his own will, not under duress. Nowadays, free people called "volunteers," since the outbreak of war they have formed volunteer battalions.

A noble - as a representative of national military elite he has a higher goals, engaged in spiritual self-development as well as professional improvement.

An armed - he is able to use a wide spectrum of weapons from a mine-thrower to a laptop by performing his tasks.

The Cossack nation is a national community of free, noble and armed Ukrainians
