GENERAL SAMUEL JASKILKA, A UKRAINIAN TRACE IN THE US'S MILITARY HISTORY
In 2012 at Arlington National Cemetery with all military honors was buried Samuel Jaskilka, a four-star general, Assistant Commandant of the United States Marine Corps.
Gen. Jaskilka had a Ukrainian origin, which he proud for. He shown an example of true courage, a Ukrainian spirit is able for, during the Korean war with commies, especially in the Battle of Inchon of 1950. This operation is considered one of the best and the most daring of those the US Marine Corps had ever held. The future general had commanded a company in that operation his fighters were the first in the the Red Beach offensive. General Jaskilka was awarded with two silver and one bronze medal for the Korean War. Later, after retirement the General had often been visiting his Ukrainian brothers in arms.
