THE UKRAINIAN NATIONALIST DMYTRO KORCHYNSKY WAS DETAINED BY INTERPOL IN ITALY

Yesterday, the Ukrainian nationalist, philosopher, writer and the leader of the "Bratstvo" nationalist organisation Dmytro Korchynsky was detained in Italy on Russia’s request to Interpol.

«Russia gave me in the wanted list in Interpol. In this regard, I was arrested by Italian police at the airport where he had arrived for a few days.

Russia appealed to Interpol to declare me wanted. Yet it is not clear what are the cases of Chechnya or the Donbass.

According to my information, the Central Bureau of the Interpol have already decided that it is politically motivated supply from Russia – and because you wanted me for this request should not have. But so far I am still in the police at the airport in Rome.

Immediately joined the Ukrainian Embassy and the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol has also been active in order to explain to their colleagues from Central Bureau of Interpol, that it is a politically motivated supply from Russia» - Korchynsky commented the situation. 

After a few hours after the detention Dmitry Korchinsky was released, this was reported by Ukraine's MP Andriy Lozoviy on his Facebook page.

"I just talked with Dmytro, he has already been released. He was detained at the request of the Russian bureau of Interpol, but Ukraine's Embassy in Italy, the Consulate and the Ukrainian bureau of Interpol lave showed high level of professionalism by protection of its citizens." - he wrote.
