The Berlin Wall as a reminder of the dangers of Kremlin neo-Stalinism for Europe

 

Federal Republic of Germany celebrates the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. 30 years she divided the East and West Berlin and was one of the symbols of the Cold War.

Established in 1961 on the initiative of the German Democratic Republic Walter Ulbricht, eventually the wall became more impregnable - with barbed wire, watchtowers, anti tank fortifications. After the collapse of the USSR in 1991, sense in this building was gone - borders in Eastern Europe was open and during three days from GDR through the territory the neighbors has escaped 15,000 East Germans. November 9, was announced new rules, envisaging the opening of borders and freedom of movement for citizens of the GDR.

Today in Berlin will be held a celebration, and divine services in memory of those who died in the attempt to overcome this wall. Such for almost three decades, reportedly, at least 136 people.

Neo-Stalinist Putin tacitly believes that all this lands belongs to Russia by right state, the successor of the Soviet Union. So citizens of Eastern Europe - remember the price, which you have gained independence, do not repeat mistakes.
