Euromaidan has won but Revolution - not
November 21 marks the first anniversary of the start of mass protests
that led to the removal Yanukovych from power . who was the Maidan for
Ukrainian nation? Do defeated Square? What are our achievements and losses?
First you need to clearly understand that Maidan is not homogeneous phenomenon. In fact, Maidan combines three forces - opposition politicians, nationalists, who called for a national revolution, and the broad masses of demonstrators fair full of hatred for the Yanukovych regime.
What is positioned as "Euromaidan" From the beginning it was an attempt to prevent true national revolution. To understand this, let's remember the chronology of the events of late 2013 - early 2014.
Whom was advantageous "Euromaidan"? It was advantageous to opposition parties and oligarchs whose economic interests provided closer to the EU. For the opposition parties protests were primarily driven for PR. For the oligarchs it was a method to force Yanukovych to return to European integration policy. The revolution is disadvantageous for the oligarchs (because the real revolution involves the elimination of national criminal oligarchic system). Also it was disadvantageous for opposition parties(opposition parties wanted to change the system and become a part of system, it means sit in power chairs, which eventually happened).
Who wanted the revolution? The idea of revolution was promoted by nationalists. . On the eve of dispersal "student Maidan" nationalist disparate environments decided to create a platform for association and called it "Right Sector". We, nationalists, called citizens to fight not for European integration, but for the elimination of Yanukovych, dismantling his regime, the destruction of internal occupation regime and obtaining full-fledged national state. First, not only our appearance (Balaclava, etc.), but our demands were seen as a "provocation." Even the slogan "Gang away!" Someone perceived as "inconsiderate radicalism."
Almost two months of opposition protests managed to keep the masses in a roundabout way of "Euromaidan": endless songs and dances, pretentious speeches, half-hearted requirements, constant repetition "We are not exposed to provocation ..." And finally, after the law 16 January, people burst patience, and people followed nationalists. January 19 conflict broke out on Hrushevskogo which proved that things can move really in revolutionary direction.
We managed to fight Yanukovych just because in January and February, most of the demonstrators began to think and do as called nationalists in the late autumn - early winter. But, unfortunately, the system was too strong. Russian aggression has suspended revolutionary processes, retained criminal oligarchic system and led to the usurpation of power by the former opposition. . "Euromaidan" won, won the opposition, but did not win the Ukrainian people.
Maidan 2013-2014 years was not useless and brought much benefit. First of all, we were able to remove Yanukovych from power. It is not known what disaster could turn another year of his reign (not to mention the fact that he did not give up without a fight a power, through fraud and tried to be elected for a second term). . The great achievement was the consolidation of our society, the growth of patriotism, the rise of nationalist movements. However, the fact remains that Maidan was not finished by win of the National Revolution.
"Right Sector" is a revolutionary nationalist movement. We clearly understand that without the destruction of criminal oligarchic regime of internal occupation we did not achieve our purpose - building a Ukrainian national state. Currently in progress war against the Moscow aggressors, which significantly complicates the possibility of revolutionary struggle. But from the obvious things we could not escape: UKRAINE WILL BE SAVED ONLY BY NATIONAL REVOLUTION.
It is unknown what will be the prospects of the National Revolution. Perhaps it will be a new national breakdown like Maidan 2013-2014. Maybe it's a long process, which will be to gradually mastering nationalist government, opposition forces and anti-Ukrainian government officials, bloodsuckers, establishing a system of national democracy. The main thing - Ukrainian society should start learning from their mistakes, in particular - learn the lesson of Maidan.
