FEBRUARY 1, 2016, A YEAR SINCE ISA MUNAYEV FELL DEFENDING UKRAINE

Isa Munayev, a Brigadier General of the Armed Forces of Ichkeria. The true warrior, who left a comfortable life and went to Ukraine to take up arms and express the Ukrainian people his gratitude not in word but in deed for those guys from the UNSO battalion "Viking," who fought side by side with the Chechen nationalists for the independence of Ichkeria. "I came here to pay my debts" he said.

 

This day one year ago General Isa Musayev sacrificed his life protecting the Ukrainian people during the defence of Debaltseve.

During the 1st Chechen war he was commander of the first assault battalion. In 1999, Isa Munayev been appointed by Aslan Maskhadov to the post of commandant of Grozny.

Russian soldiers killed his 1,5-year-old daughter and sister, Munayev's father was hammered to death.

Isa Munayev participated in the battles for Grozny in 1999-2000. In 2001 he commanded the Southwestern defense sector. Having injured General Munayev was forced to left Chechnya in 2007.

In March 2014 he established the peacekeeping battalion them. Dzhokhar Dudayev consisting of the Chechen nationalists.
