FREEDOM FOR KARPYUK AND KLIKH - UKRAINIANS IMPRISONED IN RUSSIA

In recent days Ukrainian internet segment is filled by information about Nadiya Savchenko. Indeed, she became a real example of courage and unbreakable spirit for many people not only in Ukraine, but all-over Europe. Yesterday rallies in support of Nadiya took place in a number of European cities, as well as in Ukraine, here thousands of people have gathered in their cities to express their support to Ukrainian politician prisoner of the Kremlin. Nadia Savchenko is a top theme of recent days in Ukrainian media.

However, for some reason all these media are silent about Mykola Karpyuk and Stanislaw Klikh, two Ukrainian nationalists, who are currently in same situation in Russia.

Recall, Both they are the members of UNSO Ukrainian nationalist organisation. Mykola Karpyuk was one of the Right Sector leaders during Maidan. In March 2014 he was kidnapped by Russian Secret Services in the Chernihiv region. Stanislav Klikh was arrested in August 2014 in the Russian city of Orel.  Investigation Committee of Russia has accused them in participation in the fighting during the First Chechen War in 1994-1995, on the side of the Republic of Ichkeria. According to the RF IC, Karpyuk and Klikh fought at the side of Chechen nationalists in ranks of the UNSO "Viking" battalion, leaded by Ukrainian nationalist Oleksandr Muzychko (Sashko the White). In addition the Russian investigative committee also claims that Karpyuk was involved in military conflicts in Abkhazia (on Georgian side) and in Transnistria, where he fought as a sniper.

According to lawyers and Russian human rights activists, the indictment in this case includes a number of infringements and contains a description of unexisted crimes. Given this, it is possible with great certainty that Karpyuk and Klyh are not guilty, in addition the investigation has no real evidence that the Ukrainians ever were in Chechnya.
