ROMAN SHUKHEVYCH PRESENTE!

Yesterday, on March 5, Ukrainians commemorated the great knight of Ukrainian nation, a prominent UPA commander - General Roman Shukhevych. This day in 1952 Shukhevych joined his last battle with the NKVD in the village of Bilohorshcha near Lviv. In the shootout he killed two high ranking MGB employees the Chief Office of the USSR MGB Major A. Revenko and Colonel V. Fokin, a deputy head UMGB in Lviv region.
On March 3, 1950 a house of village teacher Natalia Chrobak in Bilogorska village, where General Shukhevych was at that time was surrounded by NKVD unit. After some time they started an assault of the house. During a shootout, realizing that forces in unequal Roman Shukhevych came out from the house and shot himself in the head.

However, a chivalrous spirit is immortal! A historical figure Roman Shukhevych represents an image of honour, courage for every Ukrainian nationalist. Till now his great name strikes fear in the enemies of Ukrainian nation. 

Yesterday, in Lviv was held traditional solemn torchlight march. Lviv residents have marched with torches through the city center to commemorate the glorious knight of Ukrainian national-liberation struggle! Despite ordinary city residents the march was attended by the activists of UNSO, Right Sector and Civic Corps Azov.

In addition, a solemn honouring the memory of the UPA commander was held in Bilogorsha village, attended by the UPA veterans, Lviv regional authorities and Yuriy Shukhevych, a son of the prominent military lrader of Ukrainian nationalists.
